Inside Shatila

Shatila refugee camp was set up for some of the Palestinians who fled or were driven out of their homes in what became Israel in 1948. The densely-populated camp in the southern suburbs of Beirut is now home to about 15,000 people. Use the map to travel into the heart of the camp and see what life is like for its inhabitants. Words by Martin Asser, photographs and video by Phil Coomes.
