Gunmen kill dozens in Iraqi town

map A number of gunmen have killed dozens of people in the north-western Iraqi town of Talafar.

The town was the scene of two truck bombings on Tuesday in which at least 50 people died.

The latest attack took place in a Sunni district. Officials said it appeared to be a reprisal for the truck bombs.

A doctor at the main hospital told Reuters news agency that the bodies of those killed in the shooting spree were lying in the grounds.

The doctor said there was not enough space in the hospital to treat the wounded.
