Iraq checkpoint attack kills 15

Map At least 15 people have been killed and 17 others injured in a suicide car bomb attack on a checkpoint near the central Iraqi city of Ramadi, police have said.

Many of the victims of the bombing were police officers manning the checkpoint, 20km (12 miles) east of the city.

The area, in Anbar province, sees regular clashes between local tribes and militants linked to al-Qaeda.

Meanwhile, at least three people died when a car bomb exploded outside a restaurant in Baiji in Iraq's north.

Police said the bomber had targeted a police patrol parked outside the restaurant in the oil city, 180km (120 miles) north of Baghdad.
