Arafat warns of new intifada if peace process collapses

The Palestinian leader, Yasser Arafat, has warned that Palestinans are prepared to renew their popular uprising against Israeli occupation if the peace process fails.

Mr Arafat was speaking at a ceremony to launch a series of events marking fifty years since the creation of the state of Israel.
