Iran buys 'unclean' sniffer dogs
Iran has bought sniffer dogs from France to help in the battle against drug trafficking, despite Muslim taboos against dogs.
They'll be placed at airports, cargo and passenger terminals and border crossings.
French trainers are also going to Iran to help teach the police how to handle the dogs.
Until now, the Islamic authorities in Tehran have avoided using dogs, because they're considered unclean by Muslims. Iran is a key transit route to Europe for drugs smuggled from neighbouring Afghanistan and Pakistan.
