Canadian shot dead in Kuwait

A Canadian man has been shot dead and his Filipina wife seriously wounded in a drive-by shooting on Wednesday night in Kuwait City.

The incident may have been related to the US-led strikes against Afghanistan, diplomats and security sources told Reuters news agency.

The man's wife was reported to be in a stable condition in hospital with three gunshot wounds, according to security sources.

They said the dead man, who they did not name, had been in his 50s.
