You have been sending us your photos of the Sydney Opera House, after the death of the Danish architect who designed it, Jorn Utson. Musician Mira Arroyo took this in September 2008.

"You can see the moon in the bottom left of this photo," says Simon Dennis "even though it was taken towards midday." Simon says close up, the building was more yellowish in colour than he was expecting.

"The curves are the iconic part of the building for me" says Simon Dennis. He took his pictures in late August 2004.

Simon Burman took this from the balcony of his hotel in 2006. "You can see it from so many angles: from the harbour, the bridge, the financial district, it really is the hub of the city."

"It's a very white building and you need blue skies to photograph it in colour" says Andy Davieson. He took this in colour but prefers the contrast in black and white.

Anya Davies took this on holiday in 2002. "I was quite suprised by the detail of the building, so I really wanted to take these close up shots to get that across".

Anthony Turner was on holiday in Sydney in 2003. "The QE2 had come into harbour the previous evening. I think you can see how the building is influenced by sails and nautical themes".

New Year's Eve 2006. "We were lucky enough to get an invite on a boat in the harbour that evening" says Jamie Bowden. "I like the wash of lights created by the movement on the boat at night".

Jamie took this a week later from inside a restaurant on Circular Quay. "Proof that Sydney isn't always sunny, even in the summer".
