Welsh Artist of the Year 2008

Philippa Lawrence won the Welsh Artist of the Year 2008 title and a £2,000 prize with her work Bound Bonsai.

Animator Virginia Head, runner-up in 2007, won the drawing award in 2008 with We Are Not What We Seem.

The photography prize went to Anthony Stokes, of Ogmore Vale, for his work, entitled Cardiff Castle.

4 of 6
Eleri Mills, of Llangadfan, Powys, was runner-up for the top title and the winner of the painting award for her Ancestral Landscapes.

Jane Taylor, from Cardiff, received the student award for her work, Landscape from Memory – House, Ireland.

6 of 6
Loose Threads landed the applied arts prize for Laura Thomas, of Cardiff.
