This year's Big Brother house is the biggest since the reality show started in 2000. The first glimpse inside reveals a sumptuous bathroom for the housemates to relax in.

Channel 4 will be hoping the new series will see a lift in the show's fortunes, after low ratings and the race row which surrounded 2007's Celebrity Big Brother.

The "cracked eye" motif of this year's series features. Creative director Sharon Powers says: "Big Brother will not tolerate rule breaks and will be tougher than ever on housemates."

Davina McCall returns to host the new series, with George Lamb and Zezi Ifore fronting spin-off show Big Brother's Little Brother.

The garden features an Alice in Wonderland-style "ashtray" for smokers to puff away in.

Housemates will get a swimming pool once again, and a garden with more greenery than ever before.

But will anyone have to use the mangle for their laundry? The new series of Big Brother starts on 5 June.
