Damon's co-star Julia Stiles kept herself dry. She said the film would appeal to women because "the girls get to do more interesting things than just walk out of the sea in a bikini".

Model Helena Christensen joined those eager to find out how the trilogy ends. The final instalment sees spy Jason Bourne trying to discover his true identity after losing his memory.

Damon branded fellow spy James Bond an "imperialist and a misogynist". Bourne, on the other hand, appealed to women - like actress Neve Campbell - because of his brains, he said.

And Bourne also seems to attract the younger generation. Harry Potter stars Bonnie Wright and Katie Leung also went to see the film, which is released nationwide on Thursday.
