The 2007 Cannes Film Festival draws to a close on Sunday. The 12-day event kicked off with the premiere of My Blueberry Nights, starring Jude Law and Norah Jones.

Hollywood stars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt both had movies to promote. Jolie's A Mighty Heart is based on the story of murdered US journalist Daniel Pearl. Pitt stars in Ocean's 13.

Kylie Minogue

Kylie Minogue was among the big names who attended the premiere of Ocean's 13. While in Cannes, the singer raised £400,000 for Aids charities by performing just two songs.

Michael Moore

Michael Moore premiered Sicko - a film about the US health system. The director said he sent a copy of the film to an unnamed country in case authorities seized the original.

Quentin Tarantino

Quentin Tarantino, whose film Death Proof is also in the running for the top prize at Cannes, took time out to attend a lecture on the art of film-making from Martin Scorsese (inset).

U2

U2 jetted into Cannes and staged a short concert on the red carpet. They also premiered U2 3D, which captures the band on their 2006 Vertigo world tour.

Izgnanie

Russia's Konstantin Lavronenko enjoys an intimate moment with Swedish film star Maria Bonnevie. Their dark drama Izgnanie is a competitor for the Palme d'Or.

Secret Sunshine

South Korean film Secret Sunshine is also in competition. Director Lee Chang Dong (right) quit his position as Minister of Culture to make the faith-based thriller.

St Trinian's

The girls of St Trinian's put in an appearance at the festival, although their film has yet to be completed. "There's drugs, there's sex, there's tattoos," promised Talulah Riley (right).

Jake Gyllenhaal

Daily press conferences are part of the hustle and bustle of Cannes, but even journalists get star-struck when actors like Jake Gyllenhaal enter the room.

4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days
11 of 11
Harrowing Romanian drama 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days is among the critics' picks to win the prestigious Palme d'Or. The winner is announced on Sunday, 27 May.
