In pictures: EU celebration of art

Rodin

The world famous French sculpture Rodin is one of the attractions. The Thinker is one of Rodin's most iconic pieces, and various versions can be seen around the world.

Germany

Germany has loaned the Albrecht Duerer masterpiece Portrait of Jakob Muffel, painted in 1526.

Ireland

Ireland's Jack Butler Yeats's The Singing Horseman (1949) shows his development into Expressionism.

Titian

Tiziano, better known as Titian, is one of Italy's most famous and beloved painters.

Luxembourg

Joseph Kutter is considered one of Luxembourg's most important painters. He lived from 1894 to 1941 and was greatly influenced by the Impressionists.

Velazquez of Spain
9 of 9
Spain's Velazquez's popularity has endured through the centuries. This painting, View of the Garden of Villa Medici in Rome, was inspired by his time in the Italian capital.
