The World Health Organization and Togo health ministry are now working together on a vaccination campaign, as there is concern people will be vulnerable to the disease.

Vaccines from an emergency stockpile held by the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization, are to be given as part of the campaign.

A poster campaign was used to tell people about the campaign, with slogans such as 'One injection - 10 years' protection'.

The vaccines had to be kept in freezers so they remained cold enough. Temperatures in the region can reach 40C (104F).

The local community lined up to receive their jabs, with children clutching their vaccination cards which were used to register their immunisation.

One of the 1.3m people targeted in the campaign receives her vaccination.
