Audio slideshow: Sudan ex-slave

Arek Anyiel Deng was one of the 11,000 people abducted and used as slaves during Sudan's 21-year war between north and south.

She was rescued last year after spending 18 years as a slave. She was seized from her home in south Sudan, when she was about 10, by an Arab militiaman, Dudu Mahmout.

Photographs and production by Emma Lynch, interview by Joseph Winter.
