A 71-year-old man has been charged in connection with the historic abuse inquiry in Jersey.

Ronald George Thorne, who comes from St Helier, is charged with four offences dating back to the 1980s.

Jersey Police said he faces allegations relating to inciting acts of gross indecency with a boy on four separate occasions, in 1983 and 1984.

Mr Thorne is due to appear before magistrates in St Helier on 14 August to answer the charges.
