Man airlifted after climbing fall

A man has been airlifted to hospital in the UK after injuring himself while rock climbing in Jersey.

The 28-year-old was climbing the cliffs at the back of La Moye prison with a friend when he fell.

He was rescued from rocks and flown to Southampton with serious head injuries, the fire service said.

The service warned people about the dangers of climbing and encouraged climbers to always take a mobile phone and to never climb alone.
