iPhones to go on sale in Jersey

iPhone

Two Jersey phone firms have announced they are to sell the Apple iPhone.

The device has only been available to buy abroad, and in the UK it is tied to the O2 phone network which does not work in Jersey.

Both Jersey Telecom (JT) and Cable & Wireless (C&W) said they would sell the 3G version of the phone, but would only have a limited number of handsets.

JT said it wanted customers to register interest first. C&W said it would work on a "first come, first served" basis.

The handset combines a mobile phone with a music and video player, internet browser and e-mail device.
