'Sentimental value' jewels stolen

Valuable jewellery, including items of sentimental value, has been stolen in a robbery in broad daylight.

The items, worth up to £6,000, are thought to have been taken from a house in Trinity, Jersey, on Wednesday.

The missing items include necklaces with diamond pendants, a bracelet and two gentlemen's pocket watches.

Jersey police want to hear from anyone who has been offered jewellery for sale, or anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area during the day.

Police officers are warning householders to keep their homes secure.
