Charity buys hospital equipment

A charity donated nearly £60,000 towards hospital equipment last year.

The items, including a bronchoscope for the intensive care unit, were bought by the League of Friends for use in Jersey's General Hospital.

The league also runs a shop and coffee shop on the premises and visits the wards as part of the volunteer service it offers.

Money raised also went towards paying for the names of deceased patients to be included in a book of remembrance.

League of Friends organisers said they need more volunteers to help run its shops and take part in ward rounds.
