Swine flu 'contained' on island

Health officials in the Isle of Man are planning to try to contain swine flu, rather than move to a "treatment phase", like the UK.

Four cases of the virus have been confirmed on the island.

Thousands of cases in the UK mean the Department of Health will no longer give drugs to those in contact with sufferers or test to confirm cases.

The Manx Department of Health and Social Security said all suspected cases on the island would be tested.

The latest two cases are both people who recently returned from abroad.

The Public Health Directorate said any patient who developed flu symptoms within seven days of return from an affected area or had had contact with a case, was advised to phone their GP.
