Arrest for attempted murder of Pc

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a police officer was seriously injured when he was hit by a car on the Isle of Man.

Pc Andrew Morgan, 41, and a colleague were speaking to the driver of a car parked on Mona Drive in Douglas when it was driven off hitting Pc Morgan.

A police spokesman said a man was being questioned at the force's headquarters.

Pc Morgan's collarbone was broken and he sustained serious cuts to his head during the incident on Saturday.

He has been since been released from hospital.
