Injured car attack Pc back home

Pc Andrew Morgan

An Isle of Man police officer who was seriously injured after being struck by a car while on duty has been released from hospital.

Pc Andrew Morgan, 41, and a colleague were speaking to the driver of a car parked on Mona Drive in Douglas when it was driven off hitting the officer.

His collarbone was broken and his head suffered serious lacerations as he was dragged along the road on Saturday.

Two men from Douglas were arrested and released on bail over the incident.

Det Sgt Iain MacMillan said he was specifically looking for one man to get in touch as there was no passenger in the vehicle.

"This is a white man, aged about 30 years. He is clean shaven, with dark hair which is described as neither shaved short nor long.

"The dark hair appears to come to a point at the front of his head."

For operational reasons, Manx police have not issued a description of the vehicle they are seeking.

Pc Morgan transferred to the Isle of Man Constabulary in January 2003 having served for nine years in Merseyside Police.

He has been released from hospital and is convalescing at home.
