Airport opens new treatment room

Medical room

Anyone falling ill at the Isle of Man airport will now be given first aid using the latest facilities, the government has said.

A new medical room has been opened at Ronaldsway which officials say is a "vast improvement" on the airport's previous facilities.

It will be used by any passengers or airport employees who fall ill or suffer an accident at the site.

The facilities include a stretcher, cardiac monitor and treatment trolley.

Health Minister Eddie Teare said: "The new medical room at the airport is extremely well equipped and is a vast improvement on previous facilities."

Charitable funds from Noble's Hospital have been used to fund the ambulance stretcher, cardiac monitor and a medical treatment trolley.

The initiation of the project, and the training of staff on how to use the new equipment, was carried out by Graham Lloyd-Brandrick, lead critical care nurse at the hospital.
