Six jobs could be axed at the Isle of Man Newspapers group under plans to move part of the production team to the United Kingdom.
Bosses want to transfer the division to a processing centre in Preston under the parent company Johnston Press.
Richard Butt, editor of the Isle of Man Newspapers, said the decision would have no effect on the editorial side of its three publications.
The move is scheduled to happen by the end of October.
"The company has taken a review of its back room page-production team and as a result a restructuring move is under way," said Mr Butt
"We have entered a consultation period and we are hoping to mitigate the effects on staff.
"Newspaper printing has not been affected by these proposals."
Isle of Man Newspapers has three titles called The Courier, The Manx Independent and The Isle of Man Examiner.
