Road closes for resurfacing work

More roadworks and diversions are planned for Douglas roads over the coming weeks.

Bucks Road will be resurfaced in phases, with work expected to get under way next Sunday and end on 14 August.

Director of Highways, Bruce Hannay, said the work was being done in two phases to minimise disruption.

The first phase covers Circular Road up to Christian Road and the second phase covers from the Christian Road junction to the Rosemount traffic lights.

The first section of the road will be closed between 0800 BST and 1800 BST next Sunday.

Then from Monday 4 August to Thursday 7 August it will be closed between 1830 BST and 2200 BST every evening.

Mr Hannay said that where possible the disruption to drivers would be kept to a minimum.
