Two quick-thinking crew members have been praised by their manager after rescuing a man from the River Mersey in Liverpool.
The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company staff launched the Viking's rescue craft after hearing reports of a man in the water near the terminal building.
The crew got to the man within six minutes on Friday evening and took him to the landing stage.
Chief executive Mark Woodward said he was "extremely proud" of his staff.
The rescue was carried out in conjunction with Liverpool Coastguard.
Mr Woodward said: "Fortunately this incident was quickly reported and emergency procedures ensured that the casualty was brought ashore without delay.
"I am extremely proud of the Viking crew, particularly the two crew members who demonstrated a high level of seamanship in handling the boat."
