New campaign to cut drink-driving

Drink drive campaign poster

Guernsey's summer drink driving campaign has got under way for the second year.

The campaign is similar to those used at Christmas, with a zero tolerance approach to drink-driving and random breath tests carried out.

Last year's operation saw 28 people charged with drink-driving offences - a 28% fall from 2007.

The campaign is a joint initiative run by the Drug and Alcohol Strategy and Guernsey Police.

Bars and restaurants on the island are supporting the initiative, which uses the slogan, 'Just think… how much could that drink cost you?'
