Andy Priaulx

Guernsey's reigning World Touring Car champion Andy Priaulx has received his MBE from the Queen at Buckingham Palace in London.

Mr Priaulx received his award for his work with the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation and being triple World Touring Car Champion.

He said meeting the Queen was "very, very special".

He said: "She asked me about motor racing in Guernsey and I explained that I raced all over the world."

He added: "To receive this honour underlines my commitment to the charity and to assisting the newcomers to motorsport, so they can understand how much hard work it takes.

"It is a day I shall never forget."
