A multi-million pound plan to revamp a "down-at-heel" stretch of a main London arterial route has been approved.
Brent Council is to carry out a major consultation exercise before agreeing a scheme to regenerate a two-mile (3.2 km) length of the North Circular Road.
The 15-year project involves the section between the famous Ace Cafe and Staples Corner, near the M1 link.
Interested parties both locally and nationally will be consulted, as well as government and business bodies.
The decision to regenerate the stretch of road was taken by councillors on Monday.
It followed reports from officers about the need to modernise and bring a new look to the road, regularly used by hundreds of thousands of motorists entering and leaving the capital.
