E-mail scam demands user details

Internet users in Guernsey are being warned about an e-mail scam.

Anyone who has received mail from customer.care83@live.com should delete it immediately, island internet service provider Sure said.

It said cwgsy.net users were among those being targeted by the scam, which asks for details including user name, password and birth date information.

Sure said it never asked for customer details in this way and anyone who has responded should change their password.

The e-mail claims to be from an official e-mail service's messaging centre and threatens to shut down accounts unless the information is sent.
