Airline purchases two new planes
The Channel Island airline Aurigny has purchased two new planes at a cost of about £19m.
Guernsey States gave the go-ahead to buy the planes last year and agreed to act as a guarantor for the loan, which is coming from the private sector.
The aircraft should be delivered to the island in February 2009 and will replace two of Aurigny's older models.
Managing Director Malcolm Hart said: "They will be more fuel efficient and cheaper to maintain."
