Warning on social network sites

Islanders are being warned of the dangers of using social networking websites.

Dr Peter Harris, the Data Protection Commissioner, says details posted on websites like Facebook and MySpace can end up being accessible to everyone.

He also warned in a report to the States that information can often be difficult to remove.

Dr Harris said people should think carefully before sharing information about themselves.
