Almost half of the people aboard the Russian plane that crashed near the Arctic Ocean coast, have survived.
The plane caught fire after falling onto a wing during a forced landing a few kilometres from Varandey airport in the Nenets autonomous district.
After rescuers recovered another passenger from under the debris, the number of survivors reached 24 out of 52 people on board.
But at least 10 of the survivors are said to be in serious condition.
A medical team with a large supply of burn treatment drugs sent by the Emergencies Ministry from Arkhangelsk is its way to the scene.
The Antonov-24 plane was on the last leg of its flight to Varandey from Ufa in the central Urals, involving two stopovers.
It was carrying employees of companies that belong to the Russian oil giant, Lukoil.
It remains unclear what caused the forced landing when the plane was only five kilometres from the airport.
