Iraq condemns Turkish army raids

Iraq has reacted angrily to the latest Turkish raids on suspected Kurdish separatist positions in the border regions of northern Iraq.

It said the Turkish incursion contradicted the principles of neighbourliness and international law and it called on Turkey to withdraw its forces immediately.

Turkish jets bombed strategic routes along the frontier on Thursday and Friday to prevent fighters from the Kurdish Workers' Party PKK from regrouping.
