Kosovo students return to university

Kosovo students return to university

Ethnic Albanian students and professors have returned to Kosovo University, eight years after the Serbian authorities banned teaching in Albanian.

Addressing a crowd of several thousand students, the Rector Zenel Kelmendi said in the future the university would not exclude anyone.

But all classes for the moment will be held in Albanian. Today also saw the reopening of the Pristina post office, which will first concentrate on rebuilding the province's damaged and outdated telecommunications system.

The United Nations mission in the province has also announced the resumption of customs service, initially manned by UN staff.
