CAN FOLLOW KOSOVO SEQUENCE The conflict over Kosovo -- and the warring sides' eagerness to get their respective views across to the outside world -- has highlighted the use of the global computer network, the Internet.
The editor of a leading Internet magazine, Internet, Richard Dinnick, has said that the network has become part of a public relations battle.
NATO's Internet web-site has been tampered with by outside users --known as hackers -- who have left computer problems, known as viruses, which were later traced to Belgrade.
Correspondents say that the Internet is brushing aside old boundaries and restrictions; with most Western journalists excluded from Serbia, they say that the Internet has become one of the few alternative means of relaying information.
