Exclusive film of 'Serb atrocities'

The film appears to show the first pictures of last week's reported Serb atrocities in the village of Krusa near Pec.

"It shows the bodies of several young men who were killed with a single bullet to the head after trying to escape.

Because the Internet can be seen by people of all ages, BBC News Online has removed from George Alagiah's report one image which might prove distressing to some.

The cameraman, Milaim Bellanica, says more than 100 people were killed when Serb forces shelled the area.

"A group of Serbs were on top of the hill. Others came from behind. Our men were captured and the Serbs killed them one after the other," he said.

He said all the young men were farmers and the killers knew some of the villagers, calling them out by name.

"There were more than 100 soldiers, some of the Serbs had masks, others were in uniform."

He went into hiding for seven days. But he returned to the scene with a video camera.

"I have done this so my son and my grandson, the next generation, will never forget what the Serbs have done to the Albanian people," he told the BBC.

Milaim Bellanica fled across the border to Albania. He has given the BBC a list of 26 victims, many known well to him as classmates from his village.

UK Foreign Secretary Robin Cook reacted by saying: "This is an appalling event. It underlines the murderous brutality with which the ethnic cleansing is being waged within Kosovo."
