Seven arrested in Spanish ETA raids

Police in the Basque region in northern Spain have arrested seven people suspected of membership in the Basque separatist organisation, ETA.

The Spanish Interior Minister, Mariano Rajoy, said the police had also seized 35kg of dynamite and other bomb-making equipment, during the overnight raids in the towns of Mondragon and Aramayona.

They also found a map linking the organisation to a car bomb in the city of Logrono on Saturday.

ETA has been blamed for 31 killings since it ended a 14-month ceasefire in 1999.
