Jude Law is officially a Broadway hit, after it was revealed the $2.5m (£1.5m) production of Hamlet he stars in is in profit after less than three months.
Law's performance in the title role has won acclaim, with critic Ben Brantley praising his "undeniable charisma".
The production, which transferred from London's West End, opened in New York's Broadhurst Theatre in October.
"It's heartening to see that Shakespeare can be a commercial success on Broadway," said the show's producer.
She added that the production had brought in "many young members... experiencing their first Shakespeare production".
Hamlet, directed by Michael Grandage - current artistic director of the Donmar Warehouse - features a largely British cast and runs until 6 December.
It marks 36-year-old Law's return to Broadway for the first time since 1995, when he made his Tony Award-nominated debut in Jean Cocteau's Indiscretions.
