US pay-TV network HBO will lead from the front at next year's Golden Globe awards, having received a remarkable 22 of its 55 television nominations.
Its nearest rival, US cable channel Showtime, only got eight in comparison.
HBO dramas In Treatment and Recount get five nominations each - more than any other programme - while its epic mini-series John Adams receives four.
30 Rock actress Tina Fey, who won best female comedy performance this year, is nominated for the same award again.
The same applies to Californification's David Duchovny, nominated again for best male comedy performance, and Mad Men's Jon Hamm, recognised in the best dramatic actor category.
Advertising-based series Mad Men, which won best TV drama earlier this year, is up for the same award again against In Treatment and another HBO show, True Blood.
Medical drama House and Showtime's serial killer thriller Dexter complete the nominated five.
Both 30 Rock and Californication are shortlisted for best TV comedy, as are Entourage, Weeds and the US version of BBC hit The Office.
Its star Steve Carell will battle with Duchovny for the male comedy award, with Fey's 30 Rock star Alec Baldwin, Entourage star Kevin Connolly and Monk's Tony Shalhoub completing the shortlist.
Fey's competition, meanwhile, includes Ugly Betty's America Ferrara and Christina Applegate for Samantha Who?
Fey, 38, achieved worldwide fame this year for her uncanny impersonation of the Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin on comedy show Saturday Night Live.
In addition to Hamm, the best drama actor category includes In Treatment's Gabriel Byrne, House star Hugh Laurie and Jonathan Rhys Meyers for The Tudors.
Sally Field, meanwhile, gets her 10th Golden Globe nomination, this time for her role in Brothers and Sisters.
British talent is well represented in the categories devoted to mini-series and TV movies, with Tom Wilkinson getting two nominations for Recount, a fact-based thriller about the 2000 US elections, and John Adams.
Ralph Fiennes - also up for a film award for his role in The Duchess - gets a best actor nod for playing a gay butler in Bernard and Doris.
Dame Judi Dench and Dame Eileen Atkins are both recognised, in different categories, for their work in BBC costume drama Cranford.
The Golden Globes, handed out each year by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, will be held in Los Angeles on 11 January.
