Prince sued over perfume contract

Prince

A perfume company has sued Prince and his music publisher Universal for $100,000 (£66,510) over claims they failed to honour a contract.

Revelations Perfume and Cosmetics said the musician did not help promote two 3121 fragrances - named after his 2006 album - despite saying he would.

The case has been filed in the New York State Supreme Court.

Universal spokesman Peter LoFrumento called the breach-of-contract claims "completely without merit".

Revelations said it spent $2.5m (£1.6m) on the product and agreed to pay Universal half of profits made from sales of the perfume.

According to the company, Universal and Prince have not participated in promotions since the fragrance was launched last year.
