DiCaprio charms at film premiere

Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio took his mother to the London premiere of his latest film, Body of Lies.

The pair walked the red carpet and posed for photographs, while Irmelin DiCaprio spoke to reporters in her native German.

They were joined in Leicester Square by Sir Ridley Scott, who directed the thriller, about a US intelligence agent on the hunt for a terrorist leader.

Russell Crowe, who also stars in the film, did not attend.

DiCaprio last worked with Crowe on the 1995 Western The Quick and the Dead, which also starred Sharon Stone and Gene Hackman.

'Proud'

Body of Lies marks Crowe's fourth movie with Sir Ridley after Gladiator, A Good Year and American Gangster.

"He's a buddy so it makes it easier," the director said on the red carpet.

"I was working with Leo for the first time and it was great, he's a real pro."

Sir Ridley added that he would be working with Crowe a fifth time next year.

"We start filming Robin Hood in February," he told the BBC.

DiCaprio was keen to talk about the US Presidential election.

At the Italian premiere of Body Of Lies on Wednesday, the actor said he had stayed up all night to watch Barack Obama's victory.

He told reporters in London that he was still enthused by the result.

"We have elected a fantastic president and I feel exhilarated and motivated," he said.

"A lot of changes are coming so I couldn't be more excited'

Body of Lies opened in October in the US and will be released in the UK on 21 November.
