A cast of largely unknown child actors will star in the remake of classic 1980s film Fame, according to reports.
They include Anna Maria Perez de Tagle, who played Ashley Dewitt in TV show Hannah Montana, said film trade magazine The Hollywood Reporter.
The original movie, which won two musical Oscars, was about the failures and fortunes of super-ambitious young performers and their teachers.
The new version is due to be released in September next year.
Thomas Dekker, the star of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, is in negotiations to take a starring role.
One of the film's writes Aline Brosh McKenna, was behind the scripts the Devil Wears Prada and 27 Dresses.
Fame was followed by a long-running TV series, several hit albums, a reality show and a musical.
