Hollywood actor Jack Black is reuniting with the writers of animation film Kung Fu Panda for an untitled live action action comedy, according to a report.
The Hollywood Reporter said the School of Rock star will team up with Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger to produce and star in the movie.
"For our next live action project, we knew we wanted to work with either a panda or Jack," said Aibel.
Black's character forgets his identity, but convinces himself he is a spy.
"We also figured that if we could write for Jack as a panda, we could write for him as a human," Aibel added.
Big summer hit
The film has been dubbed as a "sort of comedic The Bourne Identity".
"If he did turn out to be a superspy, this wouldn't be a 'comedic Bourne Identity,' but just The Bourne Identity, and apparently Universal has already made that movie, several times," Berger said.
Aibel and Berger worked with Black for months in the recording sessions for DreamWorks Animation's Panda.
In August it was confirmed that the movie studio were in talks about making a sequel.
It became one of the biggest hits of the summer, grossing more than $405m (£227m) internationally.
Black's next film is ear One, which is directed by Harold Ramis.
