Scarlett Johansson weds Reynolds

Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds

Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson has married fellow actor Ryan Reynolds, their publicists have confirmed.

US magazine Us Weekly reported the small wedding took place at a remote wilderness resort just outside Vancouver, Canada.

The Lost in Translation actress, 23, had been dating Van Wilder star Reynolds, 31, since February 2007.

They announced their engagement four months ago after Johansson showed off a three-carat diamond ring.

The couple's wedding may have come as a surprise to some after the actress said in an interview last month she had no plans to rush into marriage.

"We're just recently, very recently, engaged. So we're just taking it easy and no big plan yet," she said.

"I mean, I'm 23. There's no reason to rush into it. Everything feels very natural and relaxed."

Reynolds had previously been engaged to singer and fellow Canadian Alanis Morissette.
