Illegal DVDs valued at £1m have been destroyed as part of a crackdown on sleaze in Soho.
The two-tonne hoard, collected over the past 12 months, was taken to an incinerator in Edmonton, north London.
They were confiscated by licensing inspectors either because the content was illegal or the seller did not have the right licence to sell them.
Westminster Council said most of the DVDs would have ended up in Soho, the main district for adult entertainment.
"The sex and adult entertainment industry is a recognised part of Soho and central London but it needs careful monitoring and enforcement to prevent exploitation," said Cllr Daniel Astaire.
"Adult materials are carefully monitored for real, understandable reasons and motives."
