Lopez to star in reality TV show

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony

Jennifer Lopez has signed up to star in her own reality TV series, which will be based on her life as a singer, actress and new mother.

The 38-year-old will finance and produce the project as well, the Associated Press reported.

The star, who is due to launch another fragrance for her perfume range, said: "I'm looking forward to sharing this exciting journey together."

The show will be broadcast on US cable network The Learning Channel (TLC).

'Incredible role-model''

TLC's president, Angela Shapiro-Mathes, described Lopez as being "unbelievably passionate about life" and promised she would be "an incredible role-model for our audience".

Lopez and her third husband Marc Anthony, 38, became parents to Max and Emme in February.

The singer had taken months to publicly confirm her pregnancy last year, despite constant speculation.

Lopez is no stranger to reality TV after making cameo appearances in American Idol and MTV's DanceLife, which she also produced.

Ozzy Osbourne and his family, Paris Hilton, Britney Spears and Whitney Houston have also starred in their own reality TV shows.
