Woman charged over Heston theft

Charlton Heston

An account manager has been arrested, accused of stealing more than $725,000 (£367,500) from Hollywood star Charlton Heston and TV producer Stephen Cannell.

Sharon M Walker, 56, was charged with grand theft, forgery and filing false tax returns, according to the Los Angeles District Attorney's office.

Ms Walker allegedly stole more than $157,000 (£79,000) from Oscar-winning actor Heston, who died on 5 April.

If convicted, she faces up to 11 years in prison.

Prosecutors allege Ms Walker stole $567,000 (£287,700) from Mr Cannell, creator of long-running TV shows The A Team and The Rockford Files.

A statement from the Los Angeles business management firm where she worked claimed Ms Walker forged signatures to pay off credit card debt.
