New York 'marriage' for Beyonce

Gwyneth Paltrow

Pop star Beyonce Knowles and rap mogul Jay-Z have married in New York, according to reports in the US.

The reports follow a day of frenzied activity outside Jay-Z's apartment in the Tribeca area of the city.

A white tent was set up on the roof while stars including Gwyneth Paltrow and Destiny's Child stars Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams arrived there.

Both People and Us Weekly magazines claim the couple have married, but there has been no official comment.

Photographers and camera crews camped outside the apartment on Friday, as white flowers and silver candelabras were delivered to the block.

Both magazines cite anonymous sources as saying the pair wed and threw a small but lavish party.

Jay-Z and Beyonce Knowles Neither Knowles, 26, nor Jay-Z, 38, have publicly acknowledged that they are together, although they have been linked for six years, and they have collaborated on two tracks, '03 Bonnie and Clyde and Crazy in Love.

A spokesperson for Jay-Z - whose real name is Shawn Carter - had no comment on reports of a wedding.

Last week, the Associated Press news agency reported he was in talks with concert promoter Live Nation over a proposed $100m (£50.1m) deal which would cover recording, publishing, live shows and other rights.
