Vernon Kay signs two-year TV deal

Vernon Kay Presenter Vernon Kay has signed a two-year "golden handcuffs" deal with ITV, the broadcaster has announced.

The former T4 presenter, 33, will present a number of new shows for the channel including Beat the Star, due to air later in the year.

The series will see members of the public compete against a celebrity in mental and physical challenges.

The ex-model, married to Strictly Come Dancing star Tess Daly, has already presented a number of ITV shows.

Simon Shaps, ITV's director of entertainment, said Vernon Kay was "one of the most in-demand and popular entertainment presenters on British television".

"I'm thrilled that we've been able to secure an exclusive partnership with him on ITV," he added.
